Mt Calvary, Church Of God In Christ

FAQ’s

What time should I arrive?
Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m., and Morning Worship begins at 11:00 a.m. We recommend that you try to arrive 10-15 minutes early to be seated prior to the start of the service. The services last approximately 90-120 minutes.

What type of clothes should I wear?
“ Come as you are”! Dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable. People typically attend services dressed in uniformed work clothes, casual (jeans and tennis shoes) to semi-formal attire. It doesn’t matter what you wear. Just as God looks at the heart, we look beyond outward appearances.

What can I expect during the service?
There will be a formal order of prayers, scripture reading, singing, biblical teaching and preaching. We believe in a lively praise and worship, and the moving of the Holy Spirit. We incorporate musical instruments to include the Hammond organ, piano, guitars, and drums. Set in the tradition of “Call and response”, we invite the audience to engage and participate in each segment of our services.

Are there ministries for the youth?
We have an entire “Youth Department” dedicated to growth and development of our young people.  Beginning with our Youth, Sunday School, there are focused groups for all ages to include the Young Men of Valor, Daughters of the King, Liturgical Dance and more.

Are there opportunities to get involved in the ministries of the church? Every member is encouraged to a become involved in an area of ministry of their choosing. We believe that it is vitally important to both the individual and collective growth of the church, that each member give back and “pay forward”, as well as receive.

Are there opportunities to meet in smaller groups?
There are classes, groups, special seminars and “check-ins” for Men and Women. There are also classes and fellowship opportunities for the youth.

How can I support to the ministries of the church?
Ministries can be supported through active participation, the giving of time, expertise and resources. Financial donations can be dropped off at the church, through U.S. mail or online through Givelify and Cash App.
